First time here on July 26, 2023. Saw The High Kings. Fantastic group from Ireland. They received a warm welcome by all, including having a sold-out show. Wonderful old concert house. The balcony area was a bit warm though an overall excellent experience.
Fabulous venue to check out concerts on a pretty picturesque street and area.
You'd be surprised about the talent and shows that come through Clayton, New York, but this Opera House caters to lots of different performers - community events, rock, folk, choirs, etc.
The venue itself is intimate ~2K and accoustically EXCELLENT.
There are 2 levels - main floor and small balcony.
The facilities within the Opera House are kept very well. and the venue staff (which are majority volunteers) reall docare for this space - you can tell!
There are plenty of restaurants and parking around and so when you make it here - it's an evening experience.
Concert prices range between $25-$40, which is really reasonable.
The box office is helpful, and the ticketing is directly through the venue.
Checked out the TREWS here, and it was an amazing night!
Would aboslutely go back to support the venue, spend time in town, and take in a show.
Definitely make it a point to check this venue out!
Nice venue, guys vibe.
The sound system was adequate, not great.
Pretty warm and was not a hot day.
You had better know where to sit as a lot of blocked or hindered view of stage.
I'd only go back in cool weather with better seats. We sat to the side, there was a column blocking the center of stage, as told, my bad...I wasn't prepared for the light in my eyes...
We had a blast on our first visit to this historic venue. It featured a showing of The Princess Bride - complete with prop bags, audience members in movie-themed costumes, and 50-cent bags of popcorn! We hope to return soon! Thank you, COH Staff!
Amazing venue!!! Amazing little town of Clayton! Loved it !!
Stopped by on a tour, and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely this theatre was, it's very charming and learning about its history was fascinating!
The staff and crew were also amazing!
We were in Alex Bay for getaway and were fortunate to be able to see A.J. Croce at this marvelous and historic theater. Staff are so kind. Can't say enough. Only suggestion I'd have and it could be a money maker would be to sell some concessions even water bottles.
Concert merchandise was available but was off to the side at front and many patrons may not have even noticed.
All in all acoustics phenomenal.
What a cool place.
Great experience. We met a bunch of friends and saw the Capital Steps. Our first time ever there and we really enjoyed it.
Nice atmosphere. Variety of entertainment offered. Friendly staff to help locate assigned seats. All very organized. Everything flows well.
Watched David Sedaris. A real treat. Friendly staff. No bad seats. Beautiful building and scenic town.
